Sauce's Guide to Beating NLH 6max This is really a nod to the beautiful simplicity that was IlikeAces guide. The purpose of this guide is to make decisions as simple as possible for us and as hard as possible for our opponents while retaining large amounts of implied odds and fold equity. General Theorem: Project a nitty image but 3bet like a monkey because this stat doesnt come up on Poker Tracker/ HUD and our opponents are multitabling robots.

Preflop Play: STATS Personal 15vpip 12pfr CBET 60% ATmpt steal 30%If you are 3bet- In position call with TT+ AK and 4bet with QQ+ AK OOP
IDENTIFY IF PLayer is A) STRAIGHTFORWARD=RESPECT HIS RAISES is he fit or fold on the flop ? b) TRICKY = BE CAREFUL IF HE CHECK/RAISES
SB BB AK JJ+UTG 1. Open AK, AQs, 22-AA UTG. MP Add AQ0, AJs, KQs, ATs CO AJo, KQo, QJs, JTs, KTs, KJs, T9s, 98s, 87s, QTs, in CO (you can add a few more from button range here as things progress) BTN AT0, A9s-A2sQJ0, JT0 76s, 65s, 54s, T8s, J9s, , 97s, 86s, 75s,
!!!! SMALL HAND OVERPAIR SMALL POT / BIG HAND SET BIG POT NO EXCEPTIONS EVER !!!! saying 3betset

If you are 3bet- In position call with TT+ AK and 4bet with QQ+ AK OOP2. 3bet ANY HAND in your opponent's (positionally adjusted) opening range from any position. This does not mean you have to 3bet every hand in his range every time you get it, but it is your default play. As a defauly 3bet with the top 1/2 of hands they open with. 3bet with a hand in the top 2/3 of their positionally adjusted opening range if they are a calling station or large donkey of some other sort. (MOST IMPORTANT PART OF GUIDE) 3. Isolate/raise limpers with any hand you would open with from the button. 4. Fold to a 4bet shove unless you have QQ+ AK if people aren't batshit insane. 5. If you are 3bet- In position call with TT+ AK and 4bet with QQ+ AK OOP. 6. Call a raise in any position if the following conditions are present: a) you are holding an SC or a PP b) There are two or more people already in the pot c) your hand is not strong enough to 3bet (not in the top 1/2 if their opening range from that position) Postflop: In a Raised Pot: 1. Cbet any flop containing 1-2 paint cards, any flop containing 3 cards 7 or lower, any flop containing disconnected cards and any flop which hit you. Do not cbet if you have not hit a flop with 4 or more ppl in the pot. 2. When OOP do not put any more money in the pot past ur cbet if you do not have Top pair or an 8+ out draw. Bluff all scare cards on turn or river if given an opportunity. 3. you may slowplay sets on rainbow unconnected boards but thats it. In a Reraised pot: 1. Continuation bet for 2/3 pot any flop containing one or more A K Q, any flop which has given you top pair or an 8+ out draw or better. 2. Double barrel shove any flop/turn containing a K, Q, J, or T against opponents who are in position and have shown down a hand 22-99, T9s-54s in your recent memory in a 3bet pot. 3. If you have bet a weak overpair (99 on a 872 flop) fold to a flop raise and call only any bet that is less than or equal to 1/2 pot on later streets against most players. 4. With your strongest hands and draws shove turn. 5. Do not slowplay ever. 6. Always bet if an A or K falls on the turn or river and you have already bet the flop unless there are two cards connecting to it. I will edit/add to this later but anyone of average intelligence should be able to make 30,000 or more per year playing sporadically using this strategy. Remember, almost everything said here is meant to exploit TAG and LAG regs who make up the majority of players at 100nl+, which differentiates it from the ILIKEACES guide. most things in here probably are not correct for every opponent, every time, but I believe this is a fundamentally sound strategy which would be the basis of my strategy if I had a tight image. Sauce.

If you want to crush NL25, here are my suggestions:-
if the players to your left are tight, open ATC. And don't get scared when you get called, you should cbet and 2nd barrel almost always as they call mostly with pocket pairs. Instafold if you get raised though, unless until you get good enough at hand reading to understand when you can make them lay down.-

against the fish, any two high cards (by "high" I mean 8 or higher) are good IP. Isolate them, cbet and 2nd barrel. You'd be surprised how many times they call the flop and fold the turn, and if you get any piece of the flop it's very probable it will be good at showdown.-

3bet light the regs. Squeeze them. Attack the dead money restlessly. I started playing like this 10 days ago when I was at NL10 and now I'm rolled for NL50, approx. 15k hands. It's wildly profitable. My stats were very similar to yours before, now I'm running at 38/35/6.5 with a winrate of 17 BB/100.

10NL Touch of 6 tabling

Overall not a good start to the day played several sessions throughout the day. The last session was the best and I was 6 tabling after having been 3 tabling earlier.
Overall Statistics for the month are 13 bb/100 over 1775 hands running 18/12/3.7 w/3bet% 7. I believe the total aggression factor may be a little high and I need to take a look at it and maybe bring it down some especially vs all the loose agg players out there.
ONE BARREL BLUFFS ONLY - new rule gonna try and implement it so I don't bleed off chunks of BBs.
Grinderschool.com is a site I had not heard of but I'm thinking of signing up looks like a good site. Pokertrikz is a great site to be a member of and the folks are really helpful and knowledgeable of the game.
Area to work on:
Spend more time putting folks on a range when they raise ex. Aq AJ lp reraise(3bet) jj ak 4bet KK AA almost always
Hands that are costing me money today and I should not have played - KJ A9

Ease through the session don't force the situation, especially while down in chips. Let it come naturally don't overplay hands vs aggressive opponents.

10nl Not a good Night

Not a good session this evening, it looks better than it actually is with only a -1.92BB/100 hands over 286 hands. Every once in a while I played kind of loose and crazy and this evening was one of those. Some wild play that I'm not sure I fully understand. Some stats for the session 3tabling FR 25/16/1.5 w/ 9 3bet%. Mood was slightly negative\steamed during entire session and loose opponents hitting 2 pair with oddball hands did not help when I called them with top pair.
Taking AK too far with a queen on the board vs tight opponent eventually I gave up to his river bet but it cost me -31bb (complete waste of money). I will credit myself with noticing the steaming as the session entered the last 3rd of the time and I started to tighten up and play better poker. 2 AA hands that were played well that gained me 60bb on a positve note.
Goal
Really need to shut it down when things go sour, this session i did not and made the money back but it could have easily been worse in the opposite direction. Going further the goal has to be to stop after 2 buyins are lost. Without controls put in place and followed my losing sessions could cost me huge chunks of bankroll and I'm not looking to reverse all that I have worked hard for.

Tiltmonster was underneath the couch and attacked for a little while but I fought him off and survived. Gotta do better. Stay in tune with the mind.
Good Night Later -Forrest

10NL Evenings Session Review

This session was fairly short 3 tables 10nl FR 19/14 with 3bet% 3 (LOW) for a total of 123 hands. 18 BB/100 which is good solid progress and no steaming during the session.
Trends - 1 bluff hand that I shut down on the river which cost me 32 bb during which I raised preflop bet the flop bet the turn and checked the river versus a known bully/calling station opponent. Once again for the 2nd night I could have had a much higher bb/100 if I had layed off the attempts at big bluffs. Bluffs are not needed at this level and abc poker is the way to go. Fancy play syndrome is a habit I need to put to rest if I'm going to consistently be in the money and get good positive bb/100 sessions.
Mood - good solid attitude after full day of work, last 3 sessions have been positive.
short term goal - Keep up the solid play, no bluffs and continue to keep the bb/100 positive for the sessions.
126 score at testyourpoker -shows solid skills overall - weak in odds, figuring out opponents betting sequences.
Ok time to do some exercise, gonna hop on the treadmill and virtual cruise the neighborhood. Later gl at the tables Forrest

ok just sticking an update in here 1.57 miles hit the 1 mile mark around 20minutes as compared to 23 minutes a few days ago.

10 NL Another Good day

Lite evening with only 108 hands 16/13/9 with 10 3bet% 35bb/100 3tabling.
1 bad hand for -50bb with KJ bluffing bully type opponent 70vpip on straight draw board on the turn pushing allin he called with kq there was a king on the board.
Good hands - Hero aa vs a6 (Raised)and kk (reraised)preflop and collected 2 stacks.
Keeping playing to very short sessions to avoid tilt.
Exercising to help mental and physical - performed before poker session jog/walk 1.22 miles, goal is to be around 6 miles by end of march. No real exercise in years just quit smoking last November.

aggression factor problably needs to drop quite a bit, good stats otherwise, stop the allin bluff and bb/100 could have been much higher.

10nl FullRing Time To Start a New Journey

I'm not new to poker I have been playing for some time and I believe I am slowly growing as a player. Prior to last Christmas I played 25nl and was 6 tabling them, I cashed out my $800 bankroll to get some gifts and left about 70 in there to play with. Well 10nl turned out to be pretty tough for me because of all the loose aggressive players and I want to spend some time with it to work on my skills. I also have alot of trouble with tilt and when I achieved ironman status in November 08 I basically had entered a semi burned out state that just would not go away. Fastforward a little I have taken up exercise and quit smoking, requirements I believe to play the game well.
I purged my pokertracker database and I'm starting brand new with a brand new year. Current stats are 13/9/5 with 3bet percentage of 5 over a small sample of 621 hands while 3 tableing 10nl Fullring.
The TiltMonster is back on monster island for now and all is well.
Short Term Goals
1. Play short sessions stop immediately if steaming is noticed
2. Review stats, record sessions
3. Get BR to 200 so I can start playing some true bankroll management
4. Master the art of playing the loose aggressive player at the micros.
